MoMo Berlin – 5th Dec. – Next Gen. Mobile Gaming

To conclude an eventful 2011, MoMo Berlin takes another look at what has always been the most successful mobile content of all: games. However, in the time since the first downloadable mobile games became available almost exactly 10 years ago, much has changed. Lately, new approaches through connecting mobile games with the Real World (e.g. Augmented Reality), with communities (social gaming), or with other gaming platforms are set to ever more expand the impact gaming has on the way people use their portable devices.

Speakers will highlight usability, target groups, marketing approaches, and innovative new game concepts and enablers that will shape mobile gaming in the years to come.

The speaker list:

  • Mobile gaming legend Sven Morawek (Nokia), ex-Gameloft MD, talking about 10 years in mobile gaming
  • Sina Kaufmann (wooga) presenting the Berlin social gaming giant’s latest endeavours in bringing “social” to mobile
  • Alexander Krug, Softgames and PlaySocial CEO, talking about the game-changing role of publishing on mobile browsers
  • Magdalena Böttger (Founder, lookmommy.com) explaining how to improve family happiness through mobile gaming

MoMo Berlin 6 June Drivers of the Mobile Ecosystem

This MoMo, we’re looking at trends and technology with the potential to create new Mobile businesses. On the one hand, there are more and more enablers that let developers create “mashups”, i.e. integrate several 3rd party APIs into an application in order to add functionality. On the other hand, broadband, multi-platform entertainment is starting to enter the mobile domain, too. From these two areas, we have three speakers talking about the way they are driving the Mobile Ecosystem with their offers.

Time: June 6, 2011 — from 6pm to 11pm
Street: Homebase Berlin, Köthener Straße 44 ( http://goo.gl/I4aZ3 )
City/Town: 10963 Berlin

1. HRS explaining how they’re both creating reach and enabling developers to upgrade their apps and make money with a hotel booking API

2. Immobilienscout24 talking about innovation and developer enabling through mashable APIs around location awareness and real estate

3. bitbop, the multi-platform entertainment service run by Jesta Digital (the guys who bought Jamba), presenting how their approach to TV shows will leverage Mobile.

MoMo Berlin Mobile First! – Mobile Service Creation

On the next event, MobileMonday Berlin aims to take a different approach to mobile service creation. It’s not about coding, it’s not about cloning what others have done, it’s not of churning out versions 5, 6 and 7 of a product originally launched years ago – it’s about coming up with stuff that’s new and adequate for the mobile medium.

To that end, we’re going to take a look behind the obvious and have four speakers to shed some light on input and trends that have potential to inspire new services.

  • Katrin Hamatschek, Service Design Director Fjord Berlin, will tell us how the open format at “Fjord kitchen” serves to bring inspiration from media arts into service creation
  • Conrad Fritzsch, CEO Tape.tv, will talk about how presenting media (and related advertising) on mobile demands a whole new approach to content packaging and format creation on mobile
  • Jochen Doppelhammer, former CEO of Simyo Spain, now CEO at yuilop.com, has interesting stuff to tell on how a profound change in communication behaviour among school kids may influence mobile services
  • Prof. Oliver Guenther, Dean of Economics at Humboldt University, on how data security and privacy concerns need to be taken into account when creating new services

Time: March 7, 2011 from 6pm to 11pm
Location: Berlin
Street: Köthener Straße 44
City/Town: 10963 Berlin

See you all there – and thanks again to our event sponsor iQuest:

MoMo Berlin – Mobile First

Mobile Monday Berlin presents inspiring perspectives on what shapes up to be THE digital ecosystem of the future. Selected speakers from a broad range of mobile-related enterprises talk about innovation, encounters, ideas and creativity in their particular field. Watch this space for speaker and presentation announcements!

We will have a great show that night. Again we will be focusing on the story behind the stories, with exciting, thoughtful and inspiring presentations about what makes our industry tick. Here’s the (preliminary) speaker line-up:

Helmut Hoffer von Ankershoffen, man behind the WeTab from Neofonie, will tell the fascinating story behind his alternative approach to the digital content business – and how this translates into the most talked-about piece of German computer hardware in years.

Nancy Birkhoelzer and Gesche Joost from Fjord will demonstrate how Design Thinking and hard work can create Mobile innovation that’s smart, creative and useful without depending on a stroke of genius (or copying someone else’s product).

Axel Roselius is going to show and tell us about an amazing piece of Science Fiction that’s soon to be available: Smart Glasses

Holger Spielberg guides us on an insightful tour of what he calls the “indexing of reality” – yes, AR is part of it, but it’s not nearly all!

As (almost) always, we’ll be at Homebase Berlin – and it looks as if free food and drinks might be back, thanks to our gracious event sponsors:

MoMo Berlin – The Big Picture

Dear Friends of Mobile Monday Berlin,

To start off a busy Berlin MoMo year, the first event of 2010 on March 8th will take a look at global trends and the new ecosystem in the mobile industry from a bird’s eye perspective in order to get a grasp of “The Big Picture”.

While it’s natural that most mobile companies are focused on their specific solution, technology or business development, it’s important not to lose track of changes in consumer behavior or the underlying value chain.

That’s why Berlin MoMo will be inviting experienced analysts to hold short but in-depth keynotes about what has changed in larger trends and where the market stands both from a consumer and an industry perspective.

To follow up, we’ll have a panel discussion with a group of high-profile experts to put the analysts’ findings into perspective.

Our Speakers:

* Matthäus Krzykowski (Venture Beat)
* Martin Menzel (maniac lizard)

Our Panel Participants:

* Matthäus Krzykowski (Venture Beat)
* Martin Menzel (maniac lizard)
* Philippe Souidi (23ideas)
* Scott Lyons (Motorola)
* Markus Berger-de León (Abacho)

As always, after presentations there will be plenty of time for in-depth conversation and networking by the bar.

Ensure your seat by logging in (or register) and click under ***Please Check-IN*** WILL ATTEND on this site here (URL).
Please get your mobile or pdf ticket by clicking on the barcode icon appearing AFTER you clicked on Will Attend next to the event details.
(In case of any registration problems, we will handle them at the venue entrance on the very evening.)

Definitely another event not to be missed!

Time: March 8, 2010 from 6pm to 11pm

MoMo Berlin – Agency Day

Dear MoMo Berlin Friends,

The mobile world and traditional online and brand communication seems sometimes to stand apart like different worlds. E.g. the mobile scene meets annually at the World Congress in Barcelona, while protagonists of online and above the line advertising gather in Cannes.

Against this backdrop it happens frequently that, when asked by agency clients about possible mobile components of a marketing campaign, agencies lack connections to what’s going on in that area of the digital industry. Vice versa, application developers, mobile marketing agencies and startups often find it hard to get in contact with “established” advertising firms.

It’s the goal of the next Berlin Mobile Monday to change this status quo under the title of “Agency Day”. The event will be introduced by a keynote from veteran TV commercial producer and ADC member Hans-Joachim “Bulle” Berndt and a panel of experienced and entertaining representatives of both industries.
Subsequently we start with the networking part of the evening. To create maximum visibility for the attending companies, everyone is asked to send in a “one-slide” power point document of their business or company – e.g. on what you are providing and what you are searching for.

These slides will run in a loop on a screen at the event location to inform everybody about other guests and inspire networking. Please send your one-page business development pitch to berlin@mobile-monday.de.

Time: November 23, 2009 from 6pm to 11pm
